Captured Moments: Calachuchi Fruit

At first I thought this is just another sprout on our calachuchi but after more than two weeks, no leaves were coming out from any part of this one. Upon checking, the said “sprout” comes from the wilted flower. Tita (Matt’s nanny) was also surprised for this is the first time she saw a calachuchi bearing fruits. Now I am waiting for it to ripen and will collect the seeds and plant them.

How about you, have you seen calachuchi bearing fruits too?

Healing Galing Products: Healing Oil

Healing Galing, Healing Galing products, healing oil, health, naturopathic remedies
Healing Oil
One of the best-seller Healing Galing Products is the Healing Oil. According to Dr. Edinell Calvario, it is a combination of thousands of essential oils that are found to effectively control ailments and diseases. Testimonials from the users of this product are continuously increasing. From simple to the most complicated ones like myoma and cancers of any type (breast cancer, prostate, ovarian etc.).

I remember a lady suffering from stage 4 breast cancer. following the holistic approach instructed to her, for less than a month, her cancer was cured. Same with a lady with myoma as large as infant’s head was removed after a week of treatment.

One way in order to attain its effectiveness is by having a hot compress first to open the skin pores followed by massaging until the skin can no longer absorb the oil. Another hot compress is done to ensure that the oil will penetrate deeply. For the ailments targeting the internal parts, there are special procedures.

In our house, we never let this product out of stock. We used this in cases of emergencies. For example, Matt has chapped lips, during humid weather. After applying the oil and left overnight, his lips went back to normal. Mommy uses this one to massage my MIL spine which makes her tremors (Parkinson’s disease) reduced and she feels a bit better compared before.

For the price of 450 pesos per 60-ml is not bad.

For interested, you may visit their office located at Brgy. Talipapa, Novaliches, Quezon City. Here's how to go to Healing Galing main office.

Changing Diaper: A Dad's Experience

Many dads are unaware of how to change diapers of their kids especially the new ones. However, this is not always the case. For a hands-on dad like me, I consider this as part of being a dad and I am really proud of it. During my paternal leave, I used to help mommy on some baby duties since she underwent CS delivery. I used to prepare water for the bath, help mommy in bathing Matt, change diaper especially at night.
I just want to share my 10 easy steps on how to change dirty diapers to give idea on fathers-to-be, of course for mothers too.

Confession of a Dad

One sunday, while crocheting, Matt approached me and keeps on pulling my hands. He wants me to play with him outside but I still continue on crocheting. Then he suddenly said something that makes me stop and think for a while.

Matt: Daddy, maya na gagantsilyo ha! (Daddy, do your crochet later, okay?)

For a two year old boy, he may not know the meaning of what he said and it is up to you on how you respond to such statement. Hearing those words makes me feel guilty and thought that he is just asking my attention even for a while.

I immediately set my things aside and go out and have a walk with him.

Summer is getting more intense every year. Many health problems occurred this year and one of the most common is heat stroke also called as hyperthermia.

Wikipedia defined heat stroke as increase of body temperature to greater that 40.6°C, that is about 3°C higher than the normal body temperature, caused by environmental heat exposure with deficiency on thermoregulation.

How do we prevent this illness? Here are some:

Swinging Matt

Every afternoon, Matt and Tita (his nanny), take a walk around the subdivision. They never missed going to the clubhouse and take a sit on his favorite ride – the swing. He can already control his balance.

Weekend Reflection: Deposit the Positive

Just before we go to attend the mass in nearby subdivision and Baby Blast 4 in Trinoma, Here is a short post to reflect on.
Our mind is like a bank that we can store many things. If you frequently store positive thoughts, you will withdraw the same. Just like depositing money in the bank, you will gain and interest of JOY.

Have a nice weekend!

Projects: Improvised Mosquito Trap

After placing indoor plants with air-purifying function, we must also consider that it will be a good hide-out for mosquitoes. We know that mosquitoes carry various microorganisms that could lead to illness like dengue, malaria and many more. I just want to share an improvised mosquito trap I got from the net.

You will need:
Empty 1.5-L or 2-L Softdrinks PET bottle
¼ cup clean hot water
50 grams brown sugar
1 gram yeast

Captured Moments: Campaign Posters

(Warning: This post contains several photos that may cause few minutes to load completely)

The campaign period for the local election is already started last week. From there on up to present, I noticed that there is a big change on the scenery on our way to work particularly in the San Jose Del Monte-Marilao Road (along Prenza-Loma de Gato area). The roadside looks like trash due to emerging pasting of posters/banners of the candidates for the local elections. Walls, electrical posts, trees, waiting sheds, as well as bridge were not excused from these posters. These were an eyesore for me.

Experience of a Dad-To-Be

Three years ago, my wife told me that she was a month delayed on her monthly period. I immediately thought that she was pregnant with our first child. The following day, I bought PT Kit and was very happy to know that in 9 months-time; I will be a full-pledged dad. I think I was more excited than Mommy that time. LOL

After few days, we went to OB for a check-up. Before the check-up, I was bit nervous that there is a risk of having twins since this genetic trait runs in my mother side’s blood and I know that male are mostly the carriers. Mommy told me that she will be happy if we will have twins especially if it is fraternal (a boy and a girl). Not a bad idea though. What I was worried about having twins is how we dress them. Do we need to make them looks the same especially if they are identical?

A Wish Granted

My long wished Nikon D3100
(Visit Nikon site for product details)
On Mommy’s post for my birthday, she asked me if I want to get my long-wished DSLR before she changed her mind. Unfortunately, I read her post a day after my birthday. I asked her if I can still have my DSLR. She said: “Wala na. Nagbago na isip ko. Sabi ko sa’yo basahin mo na post ko.” (No more. I already changed my mind. I told you to read on my post.). Instead, she gave me consideration that when we gathered half of DSLR’s price from our sales at Momaye’s Shoppe, we will buy it.

While others enjoying their out of town trips, we spent the holy days at home so I haven't much to share.

The Howling Dog

Matt is afraid of the sound of howling dog of our neighbor especially at night. I even downloaded  one to make him stay on the bed while we are crocheting.

One night, he doesn’t want to sleep so I tried to imitate the sound.

Mommy: Hala Matt, anjan na yung umaalulong na aso! Tulog ka na para hindi ka kunin! (Oh  Matt, there’s the howling dog. Go to sleep so it will not get you!)

Best Indoor Plants

Plants do not only add beauty at home. In fact, they also help making our home a healthy place for everyone. Some serve as “air filters” removing some impurities which lead to asthma, allergies and others.
