Remembering the Karaoke Days

Before the Magic Sings, before the videokes, one of the favorite past times of many way back is singing using Karaoke. All you need is a microphone + multiplex or minus one cassette tapes and there you go.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Papa loves music. Not only playing the guitar, he loves to sing too. Actually, because of him, I was exposed to the music of the 4 music icons – Tom Jones, Matt Monro, Engelbert Humperdink and Frank Sinatra. Believe it or not, I sang Tom Jones' “One Day Soon” way back in high school. Our teacher will randomly pick one girl and one boy to perform any act before the start of the class.

Going back to Karaoke, the louder your karaoke is, the better. Some, aside from the regular speaker, attach amplifiers and booster like the exceptional avantone at musicians friend to make their karaoke experience at its best.

By the way, our Karaoke at looks like the one below. As far as I remember, it is more or less 20 years old now and still in good condition.
