Bob Ong’s ABNKKBSNPLAko The Movie

I knew Bob Ong by receiving text quotations from friends. This made me curious who he is? When I got a job, is one of my goals, to buy a book of him. The first book I bought is ABNKKBSNPLAko or more known as the Green Book. After reading that it, I got interested other books. The only one I haven’t read is the latest entitled “Lumayo Ka Nga sa Akin”.

When I saw a poster that the Green Book was already in movie starred by Jericho Rosales (Roberto), Andi Eigenman (Special Someone), Valdoph (Ulo) and Meg Imperial (Portia), my eagerness to watch it becomes high. Finally, last week I was able to download a copy and watched it. Though the quality is not in high definition, pwede na din.

While watching the movie, I can’t help to recall and compare what I read. There are similarities but most where totally different from the movie. I am not disappointed since the interpretation is still great and the casts act naturally.

Here is the synopsis:

The movie is all about Roberto Ong and his four phases in life - from elementary to working adult.

In his elementary days, it shows the common scene in an elementary classroom and how he deal with his first puppy love.

In high school, the movie highlights his problems with acne, cutting classes just to watch movies, and his love with a transferee student referred to as “Special Someone” played by Andi.

In college, it brings out how he struggles and fails as a computer programming student, and stood up and finishes his study in a vocational school.

The last phase features on how he started working as a teacher as well as the present situation in his life where he met his “Special Someone” again.

Watching the movie brings me back your school days memories from elementary until college.

Have your read the Green Book or watched the movie too?
