On Senior Citizen’s Benefits at Jollibee

Just like I mentioned two Sundays ago, we had our lunch at Jollibee and tried to use my MIL’s privilege of being a senior citizen.

It goes like this:

I reloaded an amount of 700 to my Happy Plus Card fisrt so I can earn extra points upon purchase of our food. Then I ordered set meal (good for 4 persons) which consists of 1 bucket chicken (8 pcs), 4 spaghetti, 4 regular fries and 4 regular drinks worth 699 and shown MIL's senior citizen ID.

Family Day Sunday: Father and Son Bonding

After attending the mass, Mommy together with MIL went to the doctor’s clinic for the check-up while Matt and I went to World of Fun in Waltermart, Sta. Maria, Bulacan to spent a Father and Son Bonding.

After I bought tokens, Matt was not beside me and found him already riding on the mini-train which he called “Thomas” waiting for me to put the first token on the slot.

Short Post on Parabens

Few weeks ago, Mommy told me that there is one brand of multivitamins for growing kids that contains paraben. Yes, paraben, the one that is commonly found in cosmetics products. We immediately read the label of what Matthew is using. We felt relieved when we found out that there are no such compound his multivitamins.

Parabens are commonly used as cosmetic preservatives like shampoos, moisturizers, gels, make-ups and toothpaste as preservatives and even used as food additives. Again, FOOD ADDITIVES.

Accidental Tour on Calamba Baywalk

On my visit at the house of  Rizal’s, I accidentally landed on Calamba Baywalk. I was looking for a parking area near the Rizal’s house ng medyo nakaramdam ng tawag ng kalikasan. I kept on driving in search for a gasoline station. I also saw a sign board that the same road leads to this place. I got excited and since the Rizal’s house is still close that time, I decided to take a short look of the Baywalk.

I was excited as I go near the place because of the full view of Mt. Makiling. But when I reached the place, my first reaction is: “Eto na ba yun? Parang napabayaan na ang lugar.” Most of the lights in the post are already broken, vandalism is just a common thing on the walls and posts, and the water in the lake is already black.

Re-visiting Rizal’s House at Calamba, Laguna

It was our college days (educational trip in Social Science) when I first visited the Rizal’s House in Calamba, Laguna. On September 11, after almost decade and a half, I got a chance to revisit the said place. Buti nalang holiday sa Bulacan.

The house is on the opposite side of this Street Mark.
The house is located at the corner of J.P. Rizal and Mercado Street. One landmark near the place is the very huge clay pot with the names of different Baranggays of Calamba.

The house is open to public free of charge (you can leave some donation) from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday. You just have sign in the huge visitor's logbook.

Family Day Sundays: Busy at the Kitchen

Its Friday again and I forgot to post how our previous weekend was. Here it is:

We opted to stay at home though we went out to attend the mass and take a short trip to the nearby Robinson’s Supermarket and the rest of the day was spent at home especially at the kitchen. Yes, the kitchen was busy with us - Mommy and I working in my favorite laboratory.

I cooked pan-grilled liempo and buttered corn for our lunch. After a short rest from lunch, time to work in the kitchen again.

First, I made a supposed-to-be velvet cupcakes but didn’t came out as what is expected. Sabi nga ni Mommy:Magconcetrate ka na lang sa cheesecakes and cookies.” I have to agree. I already made several attempts in making cupcakes but I cannot get the perfect mixture.

Matt and the New Lightning McQueen Crochet Hat

Remember Matt’s Lightning McQueen Hat I finished just in time last Christmas? He gave it to one of his cousins in Cagayan. Since then, he is using his red hat given by Mama and Papa.

Last week, since there are only few made-to-order crochet items, I decided to make him another hat. This, time, I made some variations compared to the previous one.

Matthew: The Future MVP

With the rampant innovation in technology, kids become more techie at a younger age. This lessens their physical activities where some resulted to obesity. This also affects their behavior. They become less patient because they are used to have a fast-paced transition acquired from the gadgets they played and watching TV. As parents we are still responsible to engage them into some physical activities.

Over the weekends, we are supposed to go to Nueva Ecija but Matthew got sick the day before our planned trip. So, Mama and Papa visited us here in Bulacan na lang. They bought Matthew a new basketball ring which I temporarily installed at home and of course, new toy cars.
