Movie Sharing: Frozen

I was lucky to download a clear copy of Disney’s 2013 Animated Movie Frozen.  It is a 3d-computer animated musical fantasy-comedy movie based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, “The Snow Queen”.

Last Sunday, Mommy, Matt and I watched it upstairs. Let me share the story.

The story revolves on the two princesses of Arendelle - Elsa and Anna. Elsa has the ability to make ice and snow. Unfortunately, her younger sister Anna got injured in one of their plays. She was accidentally struck by Elsa at the head and made it frozen. The King and Queen brought her to the trolls to ask for any treatment.  She got healed but her memories about Elsa’s magic were erased. From then on, their parents closed the gates of the castle and isolated Elsa and Anna from each other.

Remembering the Karaoke Days

Before the Magic Sings, before the videokes, one of the favorite past times of many way back is singing using Karaoke. All you need is a microphone + multiplex or minus one cassette tapes and there you go.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Papa loves music. Not only playing the guitar, he loves to sing too. Actually, because of him, I was exposed to the music of the 4 music icons – Tom Jones, Matt Monro, Engelbert Humperdink and Frank Sinatra. Believe it or not, I sang Tom Jones' “One Day Soon” way back in high school. Our teacher will randomly pick one girl and one boy to perform any act before the start of the class.

Family Day Sundays: Busy Weekend

Last Sunday has been a bit productive for me compared to other Sundays. Aside from crocheting, I did carwashing, gardening and of course cooking. By the way, Matt and I went to the barber shop early to have his haircut. Two months na yata since his last haircut. Here he is:

Rated SPG Commercials?

Do you think TV ads should be also regulated by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB)? Why did I say this?  Here is the scenario:

The other night, Mommy is crocheting while watching TV then Matt approached. To her surprise, she was slapped by Matt and said: “Walang sa’yo Nicole! Akin lang ang asawa ko!”

TV Over the Net

Every afternoon, when we arrived at home , the TV is always on and they are watching afternoon soap. Unfortunately last Tuesday, Mommy and I were surprised to see it off. Then Matt said: “Sira na po ung TV oh, Mommy, Daddy!”. Matt used to make sumbong of the things he did the whole day when we arrive.

Then I checked the TV and it doesn't continue upon pressing the On/Off button. Though we still have one unit in our bedroom, is this the sign that we need to buy a new one? A LED or Smart TV maybe. (Naku, kailangan pang sipagan sa MTOs. Hehehe) But for the meantime, we will bring the TV in a repair shop and check how much it will cost for the repair.

Stop The Bottles!

One of the problems encountered by parents is on how are they going to wean their babies not only from breastfeeding but in bottles too. I just noticed that there are some kids that are still on their bottles not only on milk but in some liquids too (juice, chocolate drinks, etc.). Some even at the age of 6 or 7, they cannot sleep if they don’t drink their milk using feeding bottles.

Good for us that we didn’t have difficulties when we stopped Matt in using feeding bottles. In as early as 2 years old and a span of less than a month, he stopped in drinking milk from feeding bottles. He never wake-up in the middle of the night and ask for milk. This might be one of the reason na rin why he didn’t pee at night aside from using cloth diaper.

My Own Bag Day

It has been our tradition to attend the New Year’s Day mass. Unfortunately, we are 2 hours early before the first mass starts. We just prayed and our give thanks for all the blessings that we received in the past year and for giving us another prosperous year instead of waiting for the mass to start. Then we headed to the nearest mall for the kids to enjoy the said day.

After enjoying the carousel and remote controlled cars, we had to go to the supermarket and buy some items for home.

First Visit for the Year 2014

It has been our tradition to go home in Nueva Ecija right after celebrating Holiday Season. Mama and Papa used to visit us on Christmas day naman kasi.

We took the road last Saturday afternoon and arrived there at around 6 pm. Matt’s Tita Rona invited us for a dinner at the newly opened Jollibee-Muñoz, Nueva. Unfortunately we already took our dinner and it was a bit late since she will be out of her work at around 8:30pm. Isa pa, nag-eenjoy na si Papa playing with his makulit na apo. So we decided to move the treat for breakfast nalang.

Lord Patawad, Daddy Patawad…

One day, while having our breakfast, I got angry with Matt for being makulit. So I told him to move out of the dining table, stand on the corner and face the wall, which is one of worst punishments to him. He refused and just ran out of the door and stayed at the terrace playing his cars.

After a couple of minutes, we were surprised to hear him sing.

Lord, patawad.....
Ako’y makasalanan,
Makasalanang nilalan…

Project: Lightning McQueen Crochet Hat

Happy New Year to All! To start the year, I would like to share my last project for the year 2013 – the Lightning McQueen Crochet Hat.

Matt is a certified fan of Cars. He knows the major characters like McQueen, Hudson, Sally, Mater, Sheriff and Mac. He even called my service car as McQueen (Red Picanto), his Tito’s Pick-up as Hudson and our neighbor’s black car as Sheriff.

Last Christmas, we decided to have him a Cars-inspired outfit - clothes and shoes. To complete the set from head to foot, I made a Lightning McQueen crochet hat. Nakakakonsensya kasi yung sabi ni Mommy: “Andami natin nagawang hats for others this year, pero wala pa tayo nagagawa para kay Matthew.” This is one of the reasons why we closed the MTOs at Momaye’s Shoppe on the first week of December.
