No More Plastics in Bulacan…Is This Happening?

In my post on banning the use of plastics in entire Bulacan, I was happy because this will make a great impact in our environment. Let us see what happened more than a year after I posted about this or should I say implementation of the said provincial ordinance.

The soon I read and saw the notices around our area, I asked our suking vegetable stall in Sta. Maria if they are aware with the new ordinance and the vendor just answered: “Oo, pero madami pa kaming plastic.” Given that they are just consuming their stocks since the rules were just came out for implementation. However, until now, they are still using plastics as packaging and this is in every stall in the market. Are their stocks really that much to use plastic until now?

The Old Grandfather & The Grandson

I was searching for a quotations about a grandfather and a grandson for my Captured Moment's "Family Day Sunday" contribution on the other blog when I read this very heart-pounding story:

The Old Grandfather and His Grandson
Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm

Once upon a time there was a very, very old man. His eyes had grown dim, his ears deaf, and his knees shook. When he sat at the table, he could scarcely hold a spoon. He spilled soup on the tablecloth, and, beside that, some of his soup would run back out of his mouth.

Outing 2014 @ Bethel Hotspring Resort

Just before the summer ends, we held our organization's yearly outing on the last day of May and first day of June (medyo late post na ito). We tried to book our outing mid of May but this is the only day that our preferred resort is available.  We had our outing for two months. May and June. Corny!

This time we headed south. A private resort in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna – Bethel Hot Spring Resort. We pick this private resort since it has the capacity that can accommodate us. It can house up to 50 guests and the place is really nice.

Lemon Grass or Citronella?

One mean to drive insects away is by planting herbal plants at home and one of the famous is citronella.

Mommy and I were discussing that we can make our own insect sprays from these plants by extracting its oil. Naalala ko tuloy bigla ang undergraduate thesis ko. I extracted the active components from the roots of Duranta plant and use this to test it it has anti-tumor properties.

The question is, where will I get the citronella plant? Then I searched the net on how it looks like. It is just like a lemon grass or tanglad. So I searched on what are the differences between the two.

How Put Border and Background on Selected Part of Blog Post

I was surfing the net when I found out some blogs have borders and/or background that gives emphasis on a particular part or paragraph in their blog post like recipes and quotations. The part is highlighted or has a background which helps capture reader’s interest.

At first, I thought it was a photo inserted on the body so it is very easy to do using any of your favorite photo-editor. But when I tried to select the text it can be highlighted meaning it is part of the body and not a picture.

I keep on finding out how to do it and here’s what I got:

On Kamachile, Duhat and Sineguelas

We visited our hometown two weeks ago but returned back here in Bulacan in the afternoon. Balikan lang talaga. Tiring but very happy especially seeing your parents happy to be with Matt kahit konting oras lang.

We dropped Matt at home before we headed to our favorite destination – the local market! We really need to maximize our time.

Since it is summer time fruits in season can be found in the market. We want to buy some since we really missed eating these fruits, but we were surprised by the price. For a regular glassful of duhat, it costs 10 pesos while sineguelas costs 50 pesos per kilo. In the end, hindi na kami bumili. Umiral na naman ang pagiging kuripot. LOL
