Family Days Sunday: Work in Progress + The Balong Malalim + Masaganang Dinner

Inside Balong Malalim
Matt used to take home two small stars in three consecutive days. According to her Tita, he didn’t behave well in class. Matt is still playful and usually provoked by playful classmates too.

To keep him behave in class, we made an agreement. If he brought home big stars for the whole week, he will get a treat - playing in “Balong Malalim”. Also, Matt and her Tita Rona made an agreement that if he fails to brought home big stars, the Youtube application on TV will be removed.

The following day, Matt’s teacher was surprised. He behave well in school and from then on he keeps on bringing home two big stars daily for two consecutive weeks.

Family Day Sundays: WOF + Marian Exhibit

Matt's Current Grades (Momaye's Diary)
Last Sunday, as promised to our Little Boss, we will treat him for the good grades he received after their 3rd quarter.

According to his teacher, he leaped 2 notches from his previous rank, 8th to 6th. Though he is not in the honor’s list (they only announced the first five), we are still proud of what he did. I heard that he is just 0.05 behind to be part of the top five.

Here's a note from his adviser - if he performs more this quarter, he might be included in the honor’s list in their final ranking.

I believe that putting pressure on him is a NO-NO. Ranking is not important to us. As long as we observe improvement and he learns a lot, that will be more than enough.

First, we attended the mass at Sta. Maria. Before the mass ends, there was an announcement that a Marian Exhibit is currently held in the church vicinity. I asked mommy if we can take a peek. I only took couple of pictures using phone since I left my camera at home.

Family Day Sundays: MTOs to Finish + Kite flying + Disaster Cooking and Baking

Mommy already made a post on kite flying and MTOs that we need to be finish.

Father-and-Son Bonding: Kite Flying and Baking
I made the DIY kite (I will make a post on this next time) of our Little Boss even there are still lots of crochet items that need to be done. This will not only make me get some rest from crochet but an opportunity for a father-and-son bonding too.

Added to the kite-flying, Matt and I had another bonding moment over the weekend. I asked Matt to assist me in molding the the dough. He asked me if I can make one of his favorites, Cars. Good that Mommy bought some bread dies which I used to as molds in making cookies.

Aside from cookies, I managed to make some foods like cupcakes and kalabasa leche flan. Unfortunately, both resulted into a "disaster".

Family Day Sunday: Father and Son Bonding

After attending the mass, Mommy together with MIL went to the doctor’s clinic for the check-up while Matt and I went to World of Fun in Waltermart, Sta. Maria, Bulacan to spent a Father and Son Bonding.

After I bought tokens, Matt was not beside me and found him already riding on the mini-train which he called “Thomas” waiting for me to put the first token on the slot.

Family Day Sundays: Busy at the Kitchen

Its Friday again and I forgot to post how our previous weekend was. Here it is:

We opted to stay at home though we went out to attend the mass and take a short trip to the nearby Robinson’s Supermarket and the rest of the day was spent at home especially at the kitchen. Yes, the kitchen was busy with us - Mommy and I working in my favorite laboratory.

I cooked pan-grilled liempo and buttered corn for our lunch. After a short rest from lunch, time to work in the kitchen again.

First, I made a supposed-to-be velvet cupcakes but didn’t came out as what is expected. Sabi nga ni Mommy:Magconcetrate ka na lang sa cheesecakes and cookies.” I have to agree. I already made several attempts in making cupcakes but I cannot get the perfect mixture.

Family Day Sunday: Not A Busy Day

Last Sunday, we woke up too earlier than the usual because I need to go to work and collect samples. My inspector is not available on this day so as part of “professionalism”, I have to do his part for the mean time.

Mommy decided to go with me so we can attend the mass afterwards since the church is just few minutes drive from workplace. Matt was so excited to visit his "Mom's Laboratory" where we had our breakfast. To his surprise, he didn’t find anyone except for our utility cleaning the workplace. Matt keep on asking: “Nasan si Tita Mare? Si Ninong?” Looking for our Kumare (the one I mentioned in my other post) and his Godfather.

Family Day Sundays: Busy Weekend

Last Sunday has been a bit productive for me compared to other Sundays. Aside from crocheting, I did carwashing, gardening and of course cooking. By the way, Matt and I went to the barber shop early to have his haircut. Two months na yata since his last haircut. Here he is:

Family Day Sunday: Matt is Sick

Photo via Mommy's Instagram
In my last post on Family Day Sunday, I mentioned that we go to SM Marilao to renew my Advantage Card but we cancelled this because Matt got a fever Saturday night. His body temperature went as high as 39.8. As a mother, Mommy didn't sleep that much and keeps on taking care and monitoring of our angel.

Family Day Sunday: Nothing Unusual

It's Sunday once again and time really flies so fast.

Last Sunday, there is no something unusual to us except that Mama and the new yaya of Matt have arrived at home. Thanks to BIL by the way for fetching them at Plaridel.

Before heading to the church for the mass, I started the day with my morning routine – sit-ups, push-ups and lifting weights. By the way, Mommy is also lifting weights (oops no photos for that. LOL). While Mommy cooks our breakfast, I made some cleaning task to Scarlet or rather referred as  "McQueen" by Matt.

Family Day Sunday: Lots of Foods

Last Sunday, after attending the mass with my MIL and SIL, we headed to the market. I separated from them since I need to buy some veggies and fish for our week’s menu while Mommy and others went to tiange to buy clothes. After few hours, we met on a specific place.

Mommy and SIL throw jokes to MIL that she will treat us at KFC for our lunch. She immediately replied “YES” so we proceed to Waltermart (Sta. Maria, Bulacan) since the nearest KFC is in that place. We ordered regular Bucket Meal with additional brownies. We saved almost 80 pesos for using my MIL’s senior citizen ID. Before heading home, we parked at McDonalds to have sundae as our dessert. (Sorry, I did have any photos for the two stop-overs. Gutom na kasi. hehehe)

Seafoods Sunday

Last Sunday, I went to market and bought stuffs needed for the week's menu. Since I was alone in the market, I got a chance to buy what I want. Right, Mommy?

As I searched for fish in the wet section, I got cravings for seafoods so I got some pieces of shrimps and alimasag (crab) instead of Maya-maya (snapper fish). These will be our lunch for the day.

Family Day Sunday: 10212012

Early morning, I received a text message from Mama that they are already on their way to Bulacan for a week vacation because they really missed Matt. We immediately prepare since we will fetch them at Pulilan. We also got a chance to visit our aunt’s house somewhere in Guiguinto where I took the photos I posted HERE.

I saw bunch of “Makahiya” (Mimosa pudica) plant so I made Matt familiarize with it. I showed him how it folds its leaves when being touched. He was so happy to see it and tried it by himself. He keeps on screaming after touching the leaves and watching as it slowly closes its leaves.

Since it was still early, we proceed to SM Marilao and we are going to buy some yarn for Momaye’s Shoppe’s orders. I asked Papa to go with Matt on the mini-carousel while Mommy and I went to buy yarns. We also showed to Mama and Papa what the gift Matt wants on Christmas is, and they promised to buy it for him (I’ll just make a post once they bought it. Hehehe).

Then we went to the BGS (Big GarmentSale) to look for some stuff. There are lots of people coming from nearby cities buying tons of clothes since you will really get great discounts on branded clothes. Also, this is their last day of their sale. Unfortunately we didn’t buy even a single piece of clothes since it has really a very long line in the cashiers. One thing I like in this garment sale is that they offer free lunch and snacks to all of their customers. LOL

We went back home and again, do some of the orders while having small chitchats with my parents. I also asked papa to check Jaby (the red motorcycle) since it didn’t start when I tried to use it last week. Good that he fixed it. Yipee! Jaby is on the go again. Matt immediately asked Papa to have a quick ride around.

What a tiring but fulfilling day.

Family Day Sundays: Rides and Selecta Ice Cream

September 16, 2012

I had stopped posting our family day Sundays for almost three weeks due to busy workloads. Good that I am here again sharing my family days.

I remember that it was my grandfather’s birthday. We went to SM Marilao to attend the mass and also pay our water bill. Unfortunately, we didn’t catched up the mass so we decided to proceed to Divine Mercy Shrine.

Happy Birthday Tatay

Time really flies so fast. It's been 11 years of celebrating your birthday without you.

Whereever you are I know that you are happy and proud of what I achieved. I know how supportive you are to me. I know how proud you are of having me as your apo. They even considered that I am your favorite among your apos which I know not true. You are just really proud of me carrying your name.

I am sorry for what I did during your last days of stay with us. I know I made mistake which makes you sad and I am really feel sorry for that.

Again, Happy Birthday Tatay.

This is one of my favorite photo with Tatay. Can you find me?

Family Day Sundays: Divine Mercy + Mickey Hat

August 26, 2012
Divine Mercy Shrine - Sta. Rosa, Marilao, Bulacan
We decided to take attend the mass at Divine Mercy Shrine in Marilao, Bulacan. As we approached the church, there is already heavy traffic so we deiced to take a detour, proceed to SM Marilao and attend the mass in the afternoon. After having grocery for a month supply we returned to church but we found out that the afternoon mass will be started at 3:30pm. We are more than hour earlier so we just took our prayers and return back home.

I continue doing my crochet project (see on myprevious post). It was brown out in our area so just took our merienda and cook and eat for our dinner earlier.

Family Day Sunday: The Tablet

August 12, 2012

I woke up early compared to the usual time every Sunday because I need to go our neighbor and fetch some water since we don’t have water since Saturday due to some repair done by the provider. Good to know that there is already water coming out of our faucet so I just filled the large pail with water.

After filling, Mommy and Matt were already awake and they started to prepare our breakfast (as usual), tuyo and sunny side-up egg with the left-over tokwa sisig.

I took a bath and prepare for myself to church. We decided to go to SM Marilao for the mass since we will be late if we are going to the nearby church. Furthermore, Mommy wants to look for Tablet-PC for Matt so he can watch movies and kiddie videos like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse which he really loves without disturbing us in making some crafts and working online.

After searching for almost all stalls that sells tablet-PC, we found Memo Express and find three units of tablet, Samsung tablet 7.0, Cherry Mobile Paladin and the ZTE brand. Among the three ZTE and Samsung are really great but we prefer the Samsung since it is its brand already known and they got almost the same price. Furthermore, Samsung is on their mark down price promo. This is to thanks consumers for making them as the leading mobile brand in the Philippines.

We just bought burger and fries from Jollibee and return back home because Matt is already irritated and making tantrums. Perhaps, he is already tired and hungry.

Instead of buying tablet case, Mommy asked me to make our own. She told me that she has some fabrics that can be made into a case. So after having some rest, I made our own tablet case before having our merienda (cheese sticks and nacho chips with salsa dip), while Mommy and Matt are fond of exploring the new tablet.

Before the day ends, I fetch another batch of water because again, there is still no water coming out of the faucet. What a day!

Family Day Sundays: Pancit and Tacos

August 05, 2012

Sunday is always a family day for us.

After attending the mass,  mommy and I discussed if we are going to SM Marilao but we decided to go home because of the threarts of heavy rain. We took a short trip in the nearby market to buy some fruits for Matt. Unfortunately, the prices are really high and the quality is not that good. So we decided to go home and spend the rest of the day staying at home.

On our way home, Matt asked ice cream so I parked the car in the 7-eleven store and buy Fundae.

Tita has already cooked the pancit when we arrived. I did some "repair" since I bought squid balls and kikiam intended for the pancit (with only few bits of veggies since the price really shoots up)

After taking our lunch, I decided to go upstairs and put Matt to sleep. However, he did not want to sleep. Maybe, he just making use of the time we are with him since the following day will be another day for work. Suddenly Matt keep on saying, "Daddy, kain! Stand-up! Please?!". I check the clock and it is already time for some merienda. I prepared some tacos this time. Nanay Bisaya (our neighbor) gave us some ginataang bilo-bilo.

We went back upstairs and make some cuddling with our little angel.

That's how we spend our family day this week.

Family Day Sundays: Momaye's Crafts

July 29, 2012

We woke up early to have our breakfast before we proceed to church. We had tuyo and the left-over ginisang munggo.

Tuyo and Munggo for Breakfast

After the mass, we look for the nearest barber shop for Matt’s haircut. He was scared once the clipper touches his head. We had a hard time convincing him that there’s nothing to be scared of, so we let him play with Mommy’s cell phone to divert his attention. Success!

Matt: Before, During and After Haircut

Before we took our lunch, Mommy requested me to have some “hair pampering” – hot oil, of course I tried it too. Hahaha. We just made our homemade treatment by heating virgin coconut oil, apply it to our hair and massage into the scalp, leaving it for about 4 hours. Then, the hair was wrapped in a hot towel for about 15 minutes before rinsing.

While waiting for the hair to finished, we did some crafting jobs like the hand-made slippers for Matt and her cousin Gelai. We finally get a chance to try the new portable sewing machine of Mommy for her hand-made crafts. Good for us that Matt got asleep so he cannot disturb us in making crafts.

Merienda time! I used to make “mini cheese sticks” using the lumpia wrapper trimmings (I did lumpia triangles for one of our menu this week but this time I used relleno-style filling). This is paired with some chips and catsup-mayo dip. We also had some bread that I bought in a bakery after the mass.

I just realized that staying at home during our rest day is much better than spending it outside.
