Neurological Rehabilitation: Choosing Phase and Healthcare Facility

Neurological rehabilitation in Germany is the obligatory part of treatment in patients with injuries of spinal cord or brain. In the acute phase of the pathology every effort is made in order to save patient’s life, and this is natural. However, only the subsequent rehabilitation will restore patient’s quality of life, which is significant as well.

When the neurological rehabilitation is suitable

  • Tumors of brain and spinal cord.
  • Stroke.
  • Traumatic brain injuries.
  • Polyneuropathy due to the alcohol intoxication, diabetes, etc.
  • Cerebral palsy.
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
  • Multiple sclerosis.
  • Parkinson's disease and essential tremor.

Phases of neurorehabilitation

  • Phase A – treatment in the acute phase of the pathology (e.g. stroke) when a patient stays in the intensive care unit of a hospital.
  • Phase B – early rehabilitation that is carried out in patients with the Barthel index < 25. It includes inpatient procedures, but the patient stays in a usual room (not in the ICU).
  • Phase C – follow-up rehabilitation that is recommended to patients with the Barthel index of 35-65. In phase C a patient does not need to stay in the hospital or rehabilitation center.
  • Phase D – supportive rehabilitation that is carried out in patients with the Barthel index of 70-100. It consolidates results of the previous therapy and is followed by the maintenance therapy at home.

Leading healthcare facilities for the neurological rehabilitation in Germany

  1. Neurological Rehabilitation Clinic Godeshöhe, Bonn, with over 30 years of experience in the rehabilitation of phases B, C and D.
  2. St. Mauritius Therapy Clinic, Meerbusch, that offers individualized pediatric, general and gerontological neurorehabilitation.
  3. Neurological Rehabilitation Clinic RehaNova, Cologne, with the international certificate DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 in the relevant medical field.
  4. Rehabilitation Clinic Benedictus Krankenhaus, Feldafing, that offers the whole spectrum of measures (phases A, B, C, D) and has certificate EN ISO 9001-2008.

Rehabilitation restores or improves ability to walk, speak, fulfill activities of daily living and be engaged in social life. It is also a helpful addition to the pharmacotherapy in patients with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.

Neurorehabilitation is the significant part of recovery after surgeries on the nervous system (brain and spinal cord). It is also performed in autoimmune and traumatic pathologies:

Restorative rehabilitation programs are typically used in adults. Neurorehabilitation in children and teenagers pursues somewhat different aims, as doctors primarily focus on physical growth and intellectual development. Young patients acquire basic skills, not restore them. This process is challenging and has certain peculiarities. Fortunately, child's brain is plastic enough to cope with it successfully.

Based on the neurological examination, neurophysiological examinations, CT and MRI data, and Barthel index calculation, neurorehabilitation is divided into several phases:

Restorative treatment in Germany is carried out in specialized healthcare institutions that collaborate with relevant departments of university or academic hospitals. According to the annual qualification profile, success rates, equipment, doctors’ qualifications and level of comfort, list of the best hospitals include:

The Lion King (2019)

It was 1994 when the animated The Lion King movie was released. After twenty-five years, Disney made a remake of the movie, but this time, in real-life action.
the lion king, lion king 2019, lion king, Movie Sharing,

Since we made a promise to our little boy, we watched the film last Sunday.

I must admit, I was excited since I wanted to see if there are changes from the original story.

As the movie goes, I carefully reminisce the scenes and the story. Nothing has changed. Even the soundtracks are still the same – Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Hakuna Matata, Circle of Life and others.

Here is a summary of the story:

Simba admires his father, King Mufasa, the leader of the Pride Lands of Africa. He wanted to be like his father when he grows up and become the king. But behind all the excitement, there is one that is not happy with the arrival of Simba. Scar, Mufasa's brother, who happens to be the former heir to the throne, is doing plans to take the lead.

Scar made connivance with the hyenas to kill Mufasa and put all the blame to Simba. He forced Simba to leave the Pride Land and never return.

Simba collapses in the dessert where Timon (meerkat) and Pumba (warthog) saved him. Simba grew up in the jungle with his friends.

One day, Simba saved his two friends from a hungry lioness, Nala, Simba’s childhood friend.

Nala, escaped from the Pride Land to seek help to save their home. She encouraged Simba to return and take back the throne.

Simba refuses but he was urged by Rafiki. He told Simba that his father’s spirit lives in him. Without a second thought, he runs and returns to Pride Land.

With the help of Simba's friend, he reached the Pride Rock and confronts Scar and saved his mother, Sarabi, from Scar’s attack.

During the fight, Scar, reveals that he saw the same scenario at the edge of the rock where he killed Mufasa. Scar tried to defend himself and blame the hyenas in Mufasa’s death.

With the help of Timon, Pumba, Rafiki, Zazu, Nala and the rest of the lioness, they managed to out thrown the hyenas.

Scar was cornered by Simba. He tries to beg and ask what he can do to forgive him. Simba ordered him to leave the Pride Land and never return.

Scar tries to attack Simba but he was thrown from the top of the rock. He survived but was attacked and killed by hyenas.

Simba became the king and made Nala his queen.

Later in the Pride Rock, Rafiki presented Simba and Nala’s cub to the other animals in the Pride Land.

After watching the movie, our little boy keeps on singing Hakuna Matata. He cannot forget the funny duo of Timon and Pumba.

Have you watched The Lion King too?

Sectoral Resection Of Breast Cancer

clinic image 2

Breast cancer (BC) is an extremely common disease, the causes of which are well studied. According to the WHO, the total morbidity with of all types of breast cancer is 25% of all female cancer diseases.

Breast cancer (BC) is an extremely common disease, the causes of which are well studied. According to the WHO, the total morbidity with of all types of breast cancer is 25% of all female cancer diseases.

Heredity plays a large role in the emergence of a dangerous disease, so patients with an unfavorable family history are at high risk.

Predisposing factors are also obesity, hormonal imbalance, organ trauma, old age, the bad condition of the immune system.

Many forms of the disease respond well to treatment at their early stages, so mammography has great importance for women over 35 years old. The best prevention of breast cancer is a healthy lifestyle, sports, high-quality nutrition, lack of stress, well-chosen underwear.

Breast Cancer Symptoms

Symptoms of BC can manifest themselves in different forms, depending on the form and stage of the tumor process. There is an urgent need to register an appointment with a doctor in such cases:
● development of nodules under the skin;
● changed breast shape;
● red areas of skin;
● secretions from the nipples.

In the initial stages of BC there is no pain, so you should carefully monitor the slightest changes.
There are four classified stages of breast cancer with taking into account zero cycle characterized by minimal tissue damage and the absence of the fully formed tumor lesion.

Stages of Breast Cancer

The main stages are:

1. New growth up to 2 cm in diameter.
2. Growth from 2 to 5 cm in diameter, possible spread of the process to the nearest lymph nodes.
3. The affection of the nearest and distant lymph nodes, the size of the tumor exceeds 5 cm.
4. The process has spread to other organs and tissues, the patient has signs of severe intoxication.

The prognosis of treatment depends not only on the stage of the cancer, but also on its type (there are highly aggressive and moderately aggressive forms of the disease).

According to the histological classification of tumors, there are two types of cancer, namely highly differentiated and low-differentiated cancers. In the first case, the cure is more favorable.

In case of the non-invasive process a tumor does not affect the surrounding tissue for a long time, whereas the invasive one spreads rapidly by affecting the nearest organs and lymph nodes.

The rapidly progressing types of breast cancer include:
● Hypothyroid. It is mostly diagnosed in young women up to 35 years. Patients with endocrine diseases, obesity are at high risk of disease. The disease is rapidly developing by forming metastasis in all organs.
● Ovary. It develops with appendage dysfunction, very often occurs due to the ovarian cysts, during the postpartum period. Like hypothyroid cancer, the disease is characterized by high aggressiveness and rapid development.
● Hypertension-adrenal cancer develops after the age of 48–65 years when the level of cortisol is too high. The pathology is as dangerous as the previous two.
● Tumors during pregnancy and lactation are the result of strong hormonal changes. They develop rapidly and require urgent treatment.

Types of Treatment
Like all cancers, breast cancer is treated according to this complex scheme:
● surgery;
● chemotherapy;
● postoperative radiotherapy;
● hormonal therapy;
● immunotherapy.

The main strategy is the removal of the tumor and the affected lymph nodes, destruction of residual cancer cells with the help of medicines and radiation.

The selection of the surgical technique depends on the form and stage of cancer. Today, along with radical mastectomy, doctors widely use sector resection, in the course of which they remove the tumor mass, part of the mammary gland (one quarter of the organ) and axillary lymph nodes.
The use of sectoral resection provides a high percentage of successful treatment and allows for the achievement of an acceptable aesthetic result.

For example, German hospitals offer the simultaneous remodeling (reconstruction) of the mammary gland or planned plastic surgery in the long-term period, with a persistent absence of relapses

Individual Treatment Programs for Breast Cancer
The bookinghealth.com service will help ease the selection of a medical center abroad, which treats cancer on the basis of the individually developed schemes. Therapeutic programs are compiled on the received diagnostic data from leading oncologists and doctors of related specialties. This approach leads to high chances of cure and reduction of the recovery period.

Sectoral resection relieves women from severe stress, which favorably affects the psychological condition of the patient in the postoperative period.

Attentive staff and comfortable living conditions in the hospitals are the additional benefits of treatment abroad.

The average cost of the operation is 6,000 euros, a course of chemotherapy costs 8,000 euros, while the price of radiation therapy reaches 10,000 euros. The prices are approximate, in different hospitals of the same country they vary in a wide range. The cost of treatment can be influenced by the stage and form of the disease, the types of surgical techniques used, the number of additional medical services selected by the patient in the postoperative period.

Lutetium PSMA Therapy: Cost, Indications, and Specialized Centers

Prostate-specific membrane antigen therapy with Lutetium-177 (Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy) is the easily administered targeted therapy for metastatic prostate cancer. The procedure was elaborated by a group of urologists, oncologists, and radiologists from the University Hospital Heidelberg and German Cancer Research Center.

Lutetium PSMA Therapy, health, prostate cancer, therapy,

Prostate-specific membrane antigen therapy with Lutetium-177 (Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy) is the easily administered targeted therapy for metastatic prostate cancer. The procedure was elaborated by a group of urologists, oncologists, and radiologists from the University Hospital Heidelberg and German Cancer Research Center.

As a result of the coordinated scientific work, specialists have created the unique molecule – PSMA-617. PSMA-617 is able to recognize prostatic cells, delivering the radiopharmaceutical exactly to the necessary location. Clinical trials show that over 80% of patients with advanced cancer have demonstrated significant response to therapy.

Role of PSMA therapy with Lutetium-177 in the prostate cancer treatment

Treatment of the prostatic cancer rarely starts from the PSMA therapy with Lutetium-177 administration. The initial measures usually include:
  • Surgery (i.e. radical prostatectomy) – removal of the whole tumor and neighboring tissues. Performed at the early disease stage, this is the most efficient therapy.
  • Primary radiotherapy – irradiation of the tumor that leads to its destruction.
  • Androgen deprivation therapy – deprived from the hormonal stimulation, tumor stops its progression.
  • Chemotherapy – makes tumor and its metastases shrink, giving additional months of life.

PSMA therapy with Lutetium-177 is a last-line treatment option, as it can be successfully performed is patients with drug-resistant metastatic cancer. Precisely irradiating remains of the primary tumor and metastases (including the bone ones), Lutetium-177 the same time spares healthy tissues.

Therapy is well tolerated by patients, who are already debilitated by the oncologic process. Although careful observation is required during the procedure, a patient can leave hospital on the same day or the day after.

What affects the costs of Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy?

Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy is performed according to the approved international protocols. Nevertheless, cost of the procedure is not the same in all hospitals. The final price depends on a number of factors:
  1. Preliminary diagnostic program. The patient needs PSMA PET-CT imaging, kidneys functional tests, and osteoscintigraphy.
  2. Quantity of the Lutetium-177 solution. It is calculated based on the patient’s height and weight, age, and kidney function.
  3. Duration of the course. Number of the procedures is determined by localization of metastases, size of the tumor, and response to treatment.
  4. Country and hospital. For example, medical program at the University Hospital Muenster, Germany will cost 14,083 €. Cost of the same therapy at the Charite University Hospital Berlin, Germany will reach 19,952 €.
  5. Presence of the comorbidities. A patient may need simultaneous therapy for managing cardiac symptoms, diabetes mellitus, etc.

Moreover, Lutetium PSMA therapy cost for the international patients may include extra fees and additional coefficients.

Undergoing treatment with Lutetium-177 in the world’s leading hospitals

PSMA therapy with Lutetium-177 is available in a limited number of hospitals, as the procedure is carried out in accordance with the protocol of radiation protection. In addition, radiopharmaceutical is manufactured individually for the patient, as it is unstable and cannot be stored.

Hospitals of Germany, the country-founder of the PSMA therapy, offer high-quality medical services at affordable prices. If you are not a German citizen, you still can apply for receiving the Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy in one of the leading healthcare institutions. In this case, it is better to use help of Booking Health.

Booking Health is a certified medical tourism operator that assists patients from 75 countries in undergoing therapy abroad. Specialists of Booking Health will give you the professional advice in hospital selection, book urgent appointment, exclude overpricing and additional fees, take care about accommodation and interpreter, and stay in touch with you 24/7.

This year’s theme is #CHEMbisyon2019: Kimiko Para sa Sariling Bayan. The event also enhances the Balik-Scientist Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) which promotes Filipino Scientist to continue their research in the field of science.

Aside from the different presentations, booths of different suppliers were also available to see and discuss with some of their products related to chemistry.

There are also posters of different studies displayed in one of the halls. Sorry I wasn’t able to take photos of the poster presentation.

One of the best parts of every convention is the food. LOL.
#34PCCMillenialVers, #CHEMbisyon, 34th Philippine Chemistry Congress, Chemistry Congress Cebu, Philippine Chemistry Congress 2019,

Although there are lots of tourist destination in Cebu, we were not able to visit even one because of the schedule.

The congress runs from 8:30 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon.

We flew to Cebu a day before the event pero gabi na nung makarating kami. Our flight back to Manila was the next day after the event but we need to be at the airport at 8:00 in the morning kaya wala talagang chance to tour around the island.

I will make another post on where we had our dinner on the 2nd day – Isla Sugbu in my next post.

Carnival at CLSU 2019

During our Holy Week stay in our hometown it was also our Alma Mater's founding anniversary celebration. One of the features during the event is the carnival they placed in the sports ground.

Matthew was already in Nueva Ecija right after their school spending his vacation. He keeps on telling us that there is a perya and frequently asks Mama and Papa to visit the place.

One evening, they went there and this brave boy chooses to ride the horror train. According to him, Mama and Papa did not want to accompany him so he went alone. Good that there are students na isinama siya sa grupo.

He is learning to be independent already.

We were still able to visit the place but since it was Holy Week, konti lang ang tao.

I just took photos of the different attractions like the color ball.

Here you are going to place a bet on the color of your choice before releasing the ball. When the ball stops on the same color you picked, you won.

Another one, I don't know how it was called, but all you need to do is toss a 1 peso coin in the board. If the coin centers the square, you won.

Aside from the games, there are also rides like the horror train, Vikings and this swing ride similar to the Flying Fiesta in Enchanted Kingdom. Unfortunately, these rides are not available when we visited. Kung open lang, I will definitely try the Flying Fiesta.
Horror Train

Vikings
I remember the last time perya or carnival was placed inside our school was way back on my elementary days. Where I got the fear of riding the Ferris wheel.

Before I go, please forgive me for this late post.

Lead Auditor Course (Quality Management System)

Last November 2018, I finally pursue my plan to take the Lead Auditor Course. This is a 5-day course which will determine if you can be certified auditor for Quality Management System or the ISO 9001. Sounds too technical?

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Course, ISO 9001, Lead Auditor Course, Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015

A quality management system (QMS) is a collection of business processes focused on consistently meeting customer requirements and enhancing their satisfaction. It is aligned with an organization's purpose and strategic direction (ISO9001:2015) (Wikipedia)

Having the QMS certification for a company gives the impression that they have a system followed to meet the requirements of the customer as well as its satisfaction.

To continue, the course is composed of 4 days classroom lecture and 1 day or should I say 2 hours exam. The exam will determine if you can be an auditor or not.

First day, palang struggle na. Instead of having the car, I took the bus and MRT. See how I survive the MRT for 5 days.

MRT, north avenue station, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Course, ISO 9001, Lead Auditor Course, Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015

I was 15 minutes late and I was already assigned to a group. The classroom session has a lecture, seat works, role playing, and individual works. We were graded or assessed for all of these as part of the evaluation. The lecture went well until the 4th day.

We were given the idea of how we should perform in the exam in order to pass and get the certification. After knowing the conditions, hindi na maipinta ang mga mukha namin. All of us were nervous and thinking of different strategies to pass the exam.

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Course, ISO 9001, Lead Auditor Course, Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015

On the fifth day, we took the 2-hour exam. After the exam, most of us were discussing our answers and all of us have different opinions and point of views. We were advised not to talk about it and enjoy the rest of the day.

Although, the 5-day course were stressful, physically and mentally, the foods were great especially the desserts.

After two months, I got an email that I passed the exam and now a certified auditor. The release of results took that long since all of our progress during the course were sent to SOCOTEC Certification-Japan for further evaluation. The certificates came from Japan too.

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Course, ISO 9001, Lead Auditor Course, Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015

What’s next? I am planning to apply as a part-time auditor with the same company that gave the course.

How to Make an Auto Loan

Just like Mommy shared in her blog, we already have our dream family vehicle and it only took three days for us to process the application. How?

First, before going to the bank, you must already have known the vehicle you want. The model including the brand and make, the branch or dealer, and the price of course.

You can search for the model you including the freebies and cash discount offers. Freebies may include accessories like carpet and seat covers.

The cash discount can be used to lessen the principal amount of your loan thus, reducing your monthly amortization.

Also, I was offered with a voucher for three consecutive preventive maintenance for a reasonable price. This covers change oil including oil filter.

As of now, I already consumed the two vouchers. The last voucher includes the checking of brakes and tires which may use tire changer in checking like the one in Best Buy Auto Equipment.

To continue, I filed the application in BDO Unibank since we already have our account there. This will make a less hassle in making transactions for the monthly payment. Just opt for the automatic debit from your account.

Not only that, having the loan where you had your bank account makes it easier to get the approval.

Second, prepare the needed documents. Completely filled application form, identification documents like, for employed, you need to ask your employer a Certificate of Employment (COE) stating your current salary and other compensation.

I was not required to submit COE since I have an account in BDO but I was advised to keep it ready in case asked.

Finally, you need to submit the documents to the bank for it to be processed. I was notified to expect a call from the bank for customer information verification. I received the call the same day I completed the application.

After three days, I received a phone call from the bank that my application has been approved and asked to visit them and to sign the contract and settle for the payments needed.

To know more on how to check BDO’s website and they are offering a free gas if you apply online from May 01 to June 30, 2019.

Urban Gardening: How to Grow Lettuce from Stalk

It has been two weeks since I started doing another home project - Urban Gardening.

I started planting lettuce, tomatoes, and pepper in a plastic hanging pots. here it is now:

Aside from growing veggies from seeds, I tried making recycling veggies by letting it grow from the stalk.

How I do that?

I used Romaine Lettuce we bought in the market. I just make sure that the main stalk is still good for roots or make it grow again.

After removing the leaves, the stalk is placed in water for two to three days. Sorry, I forgot to take photos.

You will observe that a new leaf is emerging from the center.

The plant is then transferred to the soil and let it grow. After two days, here it is:

I am hoping that this will continue to grow and soon to be harvested.

By the way, I also tried germinating some seeds in a recycled pail. Here, instead of throwing the seeds into the rubbish, I tried to make it grow again. Look at this one, if not mistaken, this is a cucumber. It is now ready to transfer to a bigger pot.

How about you, do you practice urban gardening too?

Project 101: Urban Gardening

Living in an urban or suburban area will give you a limitation in gardening. But since gardening is one of my hobbies, this will not stop me from growing plants at home. I tried growing dragon fruits in pots and even asked Papa to make a small plant box in front of our home.

Yesterday, after attending the Palm Sunday Mass, Mommy and I went to buy some stuff to start gardening again. She wanted to start growing succulents and I wanted to grow herbs and veggies. I even plan to make a small garden on our roof top and grow veggies like sitaw, talong, sili, and even lettuce.

I bought some plastic pots that can be hung, filled with garden soil and planted some seeds. But you can also try recycling PET bottles for your urban gardening.

I planted tomatoes, lettuce, and spring onions.

If you wanted to do the same, there are many seeds sold in the market but you can also have your own by saving the seeds from the vegetables you used at home like tomatoes, bell pepper, and even squash and cucumber.

Also, Mommy had her first succulent. She will bring small pots and will ask my Tita to have some of her collections in Nueva Ecija this vacation.

I will make an update on this post.

The History of Oil Paintings - Oil Painting Reproduction Company

photography, art, oil paintings, paintings, history of oil paintings

The origins of oil painting date back more than a thousand years and is an artistic practice that’s been utilized everywhere around the world.

One of the earliest examples of the practice reaches back to the 5th century A.D., when Chinese and Indian artists created hundreds of oil paintings in caves located in the Bamian Valley of Afghanistan.

However, it wasn’t until about the 15th century when oil painting made its way to Northern Europe and achieved its widespread prominence that’s known today. In fact, an artist from the Netherlands, Jan Van Eyck, is mostly accredited with the discovery of the practice after experimenting oil painting techniques on his wood panel creations, which include the famous Arnolfini wedding portrait.

The practice eventually took off and swept through the rest of Europe to replace tempera painting, which was the most popular medium at the time, as well as becoming the medium most commonly associated with famous artwork from the Renaissance period.

Today, thousands of works of art have been reproduce by companies that offer online art reproduction service, so that millions of people around the world can hang famous art in their own homes.

Why Did Oil Painting Become Popular?

Both the brightness and richness of the colors are the reasons as the why oil painting has become so popular. Although, the practice has been able to transcend time due to its ability to be adapted to suit an artist’s specific needs.

For example, during the Renaissance period, oil painting artists painted in layers, painting thicker layers over thinner ones, as they slowly built up their medium. This is usually referred to as indirect painting and involves gradually adding more oil to the pigment as successive layers of paint are applied. This allowed the artwork to dry properly and prevented it from cracking.

Additionally, this practice allows artists to build up their paintings, starting with a heavily toned under layer and gradually building up to a final finished glaze.

Indirect painting remained common until the Impressionist period when oil pigments were manufactured in tubes and artists were able to begin painting “wet on wet”, by mixing the colors directly on the surface without needing to allow each layer to dry.

Learn more about oil painting here.

photography, art, oil paintings, paintings, history of oil paintings

Today, most artists who use oil paint combine both of these methods into their works.

Another major benefit to painting with oil is that its sheen, translucence, and thickness can be adjusted to suit the artist’s desire. Oil paint can also be mixed with a variety of resins, waxes, and varnishes, allowing the process to be as variable as the artwork that has been made from it throughout the centuries.

Below, you’ll find several examples of famous oil painting throughout history.

The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali (1931)

This landmark masterpiece is known as one of Dali’s most enigmatic pieces of his career. The work reflects his interest in the achievements of modern science and combines aspects of physic’s most prominent theories, such as Einstein’s theory of relativity, as well as Freud’s research about human unconsciousness and the importance of our dreams.

Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci (1503 – 1506)

Possibly one of the most famous oil paintings of all time, this masterpiece was created by Leonardo da Vinci and took roughly three years to complete. It is known as the “crown jewel” of The Louvre museum in Paris, France and is regarded as one of the most valuable works of art of all time.

Experts have many theories about who the oil painting is meant to represent, however, most speculate that the woman is a representation of Italian politician and merchant, Francesco de Giocondo’s wife.

Because it is known as one of the world’s most famous oil paintings, it is also the painting that has been reproduced and reinterpreted the most throughout history.

The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli (1483)

Known as Botticelli’s most famous painting, The Birth of Venus was a rather revolutionary work of art for its time. This is largely due to the fact that it was the first large work of art to represent a secular, mythological theme, as opposed to being a religious work of art.

The masterpiece portrays the arrival of the goddess Venus, otherwise known as Aphrodite, being born from the sea and coming onto dry land. Although the goddess is depicted naked, the painting is not meant to suggest anything erotic. Instead, her nudity was meant to imply a sort of delicate purity.
