Phototheme Challenge

It took months before I decided to start posting again on My Captured Moments. Just like Mommy’s suggestion, I must have daily themes to give myself challenge and to keep my momentum in taking photos.

She even told me: “Buti pa nung digicam lang ang gamit mo ang sipag mong kumuha ng mga photo. Ngayong may DSLR ka na parang naging tamad ka.”

She got a point but I got my excuse: “Di naman tinatamad, wala lang kasi ako masyadong makita na  magandang subjects.” (Lulusot ba? LOL)

Throw-Back-Thursday: Daddy Kalbo

Last week, I posted Matt with kalbo haircut. Papahuli ba ang Daddy? Hehehe.

I, together with two of my classmates, decided to have a semikal (semi-kalbo: a bit longer than skin head) right after graduation. This is not to feel fresh for the summer but a way of celebration after years of struggling college life (sounds weird? Pero totoo.). This is the first time I had this kind of haircut. This time it is not Papa who get mad on my hair but Mama.

Matt in Farmville

One nice thing living in the province is that you can grow and harvest your own veggies especially during rainy season.

At first, Matt was hesitant to pick because he thought it was huge worm, but when Papa told him that it was sitaw (string beans), he started picking on his own.

Cooking with Pork Innards

I just want to share some recipes that I used to cook using pork innards – lungs, heart, kidney and other internal organs. Some found this

Bopis
Bopis consists mainly of lungs chopped into small bits added with achuete or annatto as coloring and chili for added spice. Others include heart, pancreas, kidney as well as the intestines. Also, radish can be added as an extender. Some paired this with alcoholic drinks.

Captured Moments: Mother and Child

This shot was taken early morning yesterday during our visit at Nueva Ecija. I got hard time taking this shot since Matt is so likot making this a sort of stolen shot.

Crochet and Coffee

The other night, I need to finish 2 pairs of crochet sandals for Momaye’s Shoppe. I know it will spend me until midnight to finish it so I need something to wake me up. Instead of the traditional hot coffee, I tried the new Nescafe Frappe, which can be enjoyed as cold coffee.

Projects: Crochet Minion Hat

I don't have any idea about Minions (napag-iiwanan na ng mga trending ngayon. LOL) but Mommy got a crochet hat order in Momaye's Shoppe. At first I thought it was for girls only since it will be made out of yellow yarn but when I finished and Matt tried to fit the hat, it can be for boys too. Here he is wearing the Minion hat:

Simple Way to Retrieve "Missing" Files in Thumb Drive

Last week, I used Mommy’s USB Stick to one of our computers in the production. I was warned by the owner of the computer that there is a virus in that PC. I ignored precaution given to me since my computer has its own antivirus.

Upon inserting the USB stick, a shortcut file was created and all the files where transferred to it. When I returned the device to Mommy, she was surprised that she cannot find all her files saved on the device. She immediately scanned and found 4 different “worms”. Upon cleaning, no file was found but when you checked for the properties of the device, it shows that there is used space which means the files were still there but hidden. She started freaking already since all of the crochet patterns were there and she doesn’t have any back-up files.

I tried to search the net and found solution on how to recover the files hidden by the virus. Here are the steps:

1. Open the command prompt window (Start Menu>Programs>accessories>command prompt).

2. Find the letter that corresponds to your USB stick. You can easily find this in the My computer folder.

3. In the command prompt, type the letter that corresponds to your USB Stick followed by colon (eg, D: ) and hit enter.

4. Then type in attrib –s –h /s /d *.*
Command Prompt

5. Now go to your USB stick folder and you will find file folder.
USB Content After performing the task in Command Prompt

6. Open this and you will find the current files in your USB stick.
Content of the File Folder

For a safer move, I cut first all the file and put them in a new folder (Desktop) before reformatting the USB stick. This is just an optional though.

Care to share some of your tips on how to retrieve missing files from an infected USB stick?

Another Dad's Confession

Last Thursday, since it was holiday here in Bulacan, we decided to visit SM City Marilao to pay our water bill and unwind. However, it ended into something that is not expected.

We are on a computer shop looking for a desktop. Matt was hyperactive by then and just wants to run and run. He doesn't want to be carried and started to scream when we did it.

Then we decided to go down on the ground level using escalator. Mommy used to carry Matt downwards but he refuses and wants to do it by himself. She also asked him to hold her hands to guide him but again, he declined. I was already at the ground level waiting for them when Mommy asked me to go upstairs again and Matt was crying and screaming which makes all passers-by looking at him.

"Moobs Like Jagger"

Moobs
I am guilty or say conscious about this excess fat on my chest which make it looks like a boobs (medyo lang naman). I want to remove it but Mommy told me, "Yan nga nga ang asset mo e."

What?! An asset for a man?! LOL.

Such condition is medically known as gynecomastia and often referred to as “manboobs” or “moobs”. Other causes of this is excessive intake of alcohol, use of drugs like anabolic steroids, results from certain disease, congenital or even the dramatic weight loss can result to this one due to sagging of skin.

I read several steps to reduce or eliminate those “moobs” like those listed below.

Baby's Foot Reflexology

When Matt was born, I do love massaging his feet with baby oil especially after taking bathing. I just thought that this is necessary for babies' relaxation for the stress they experienced during the time of birth. Until I saw the photo below which looks like baby's foot reflexology.

How to Roll Sleeves

I am not a fashionista daddy but this instructional photo will definitely help when I decided to wear long sleeves in some casual gatherings for a change instead of wearing short sleeves and polo shirts.
