Tooth Decay |
One of the most important but
often neglected by many is dental hygiene. And one of the most common problem
in this aspect is about tooth decay. Tooth decay happens when the outer layer
of the teeth has been damaged by acids. In some surveys, 1 out of 3 adults and
more than 1 out of 4 kids are experiencing this problem.
Tooth decays are formed when
bacteria in the plaque (sticky film formed when bacteria, small food particles
and saliva combined) produced acids after digesting carbohydrates like sugars
and starches. If the plaque is accumulated, it will break the surface of the
teeth. The next layer of the tooth is then dissolved leading holes or cavities.
