Last week, the annual Philippine Chemistry Congress was held in Cebu. The event will let the attendees gain at least 18 CPD points. One of the requirements to renew their professional license.
The 34th PCC was held at Waterfront in Lahug, Cebu City on May 28-30, 2019.
Ribbon Cutting to Officially Start the event |
It was filled with discussions and presentations of different studies and innovations in the field of chemistry. From materials sciences, chemistry in medicine, biochemistry, chemistry education, narcotics, natural products, and many more. Unfortunately, there are only a few topics in the field of manufacturing.
This year’s theme is #CHEMbisyon2019: Kimiko Para sa Sariling Bayan. The event also enhances the Balik-Scientist Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) which promotes Filipino Scientist to continue their research in the field of science.
Aside from the different presentations, booths of different suppliers were also available to see and discuss with some of their products related to chemistry.
There are also posters of different studies displayed in one of the halls. Sorry I wasn’t able to take photos of the poster presentation.
Although there are lots of tourist destination in Cebu, we were not able to visit even one because of the schedule.
The congress runs from 8:30 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon.
We flew to Cebu a day before the event pero gabi na nung makarating kami. Our flight back to Manila was the next day after the event but we need to be at the airport at 8:00 in the morning kaya wala talagang chance to tour around the island.
I will make another post on where we had our dinner on the 2nd day – Isla Sugbu in my next post.
