I already tried many ready -made tamarind soup-base
for sinigang especially the powered one. However, there is still nothing to beat the natural one
(cooking the tamarind fruit, pressing it until you get the extract). One day I
am looking for sinigang mix, I came to this Mama Sita’s Sinigang sa Sampaloc. I
picked and was surprised. It was liquid and not powder like the other available in the market. So I grab a
couple of pieces to try in Sinigang na Hipon instead of using the calamansi
juice or the sinigang sa sampaloc powder mix.
My judgement:
It is as good as the natural one compared to powder mixes which you can
really taste the artificial flavors. From now on, this is one thing I will not
forget in my grocery list.
