Alkaline is the antonym of acidic. Acidity or alkalinity of a
substance is measured thru their pH level which ranges from 0-14. The midpoint
or level 7 is considered to be neutral. Below 7 is considered on its acidic
state while above is considered alkaline.

A “pure water” (without any dissolved minerals and other organic matter) is considered neutral or has a pH of 7. To make this alkaline, the pH level must be raised. A recommended pH level of alkaline water is about 8-9.
Here are some tricks:
Adding baking soda (hindi
lang deodorizer and cleanser and role ng baking soda) will increase the pH
level and you will produce an alkaline water. Based on my experiment (I used pH
meter to measure the pH level. Medyo
tehcnical), you will need about 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to a liter of water
to raise the pH to the desired level. Just do some proportion if you want to
prepare larger volume. You can keep this in the fridge as regular water but be
sure to shake it well before drinking. One precaution in this method is that
baking soda is high in sodium.
Another is by placing a slice of lemon into your water. Slice
about half-inch of lemon and place it in your water container. Just keep on
refilling your container. Replace with a
new slice of lemon the next day. Lemon contains lots of anions (positively
charged ions pronounced as an-ayons).
However, it does not make the water alkaline, perse, but actually make your body reacts with the anions making
your system alkaline. Buti nalang medyo
mura na ang lemon.
There are also machines that helps you make homemade alkaline
water but definitely expensive so you will go back to the first two methods.
If you don’t want to drink alkaline water but wanted to make
your body’s system alkaline, there are also other methods. I will post it soon.
How about you, do you drink alkaline water already?
